| Hey guys I was unable to add to the original post due to being locked Please see below for original issue [ http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/technical/view/1115424/rear-end-clunk-please-help.html ]
So I spent the whole day trying to solve the clunk but no real luck
Driveshaft checks out ok. Took it to a driveline shop and they checked the u joints and there was a flat spot but they fixed it by giving it a few blows with a hammer They also greased up the u joints for me So I also threw in the spare halfshafts that I had aswell. Furthermore I also changed the diff and tranny oil put in redline stuff.
Noise is still THERE!!!
So I decided to take out the tranny this is where it gets interesting I noticed a bit of play on the input shaft up/down. I think that may be normal can someone confirm that. Then I proceeded to take out the pressure plate and clutch That's when I noticed that the pilot bushing had been deformed and became oval
I'm wondering if that is the main cause of all this shaking I am going to put a new bushing Aswell as a used sprung clutch set
Do you think the tranny is toast or stil useable??? I don't know what else it could be. I have some pictures of the diff bushings and pilot bushing that I think you guys should see. Maybe its normal but I would like to see what you guys have dealt with Thanks in advance for the help
